Location: 48 Gold Street, 2nd floor, San Francisco, CA 94133
Description: We are ALWAYS done by 8 PM. If you cannot make it in, we have a Zoom conference space you can use to be telepresent.You must register in order to access the meeting via Zoom. Registration will generate connection details which are good for subsequent meetings.

Description: Night live person in the water MOB practice. This is a requirement for our night sails with probation classes and is only done once a year with a chase boat. Please do not sign up if you have not already done a day MOB drill. A remarkable experience not available anywhere else. A training discussion on the boat then out into the night....bring your dinner.

CERTIFICATION SAIL BENJAMIN WALTERS (Benjamin Walters)

Location: Berkeley Marina
Description: Another certification sail with Benjamin Walters. Usual pandemic restrictions apply-bring mask, full fingered gloves, your own lunch. We will be trying an MOB with new equipment allowing one person to pull the swimmer from the water. Plus our usual certification practice. This is instead of the night MOB which will be delayed until we see if we can use the new equipment effectively. At end of sail, we drop boat off at Berkeley Marine Center where it gets hauled following week.

Description: Our monthly sail with the students of Contra Costa probation, mentor mentee approach, lunch and half hour of class first. Students arrive at 9:00AM, crew please arrive at least 1/2 hour in advance. Back by 3:00PM Contact Steve if any questions.

Description: THIS SAIL IS GOING TO BE CANCELED. ANOTHER IS AVAILABLE ON AUGUST 30. Certification for Crew and Second Captain plus Man/Crew Overboard practice. We limit the number aboard to ensure all are able to participate. Best for people who have sailed on Bear in the past so they can complete the certification at their level.

If you are going to captain, remember you have to work the command during a MOB as well. A truly unique exercise. Our standard virus protocol in place, so bring full fingered gloves and a mask and your own lunch and drinks. And jokes about leaving the lawyer in the water are strictly prohibited.

FIRST AID-CPR COURSE

Description: CPR/First Aid training required for certification. Free to BWF volunteers. PLEASE NOTE: This certification will be blended learning, meaning that the video and "lecture" portion will be done online at your own time and only the skills portion will be done in-person. Description: Assuming pandemic restrictions and new equipment allows, this will be a night MOB practice. Please do not sign up unless you have completed day MOB practice. This is, by far, the most challenging of all of our certification skills...and the most fun to practice. Bring your own food, a red headlamp. We train on the dock, then go out with a chase boat for the swimmer.
